OUR HERITAGE
A Legacy in British Tennis
At Henman Sport + Entertainment, our connection to tennis runs deep—spanning
four generations and over a century of competition at the highest level.
Ellen Stanwell-Brown – A true trailblazer, she was the first woman to serve overarm at Wimbledon in the early 1900s. Her innovative playing style paved the way for future generations of female tennis players.
Henry Billington – A British amateur tennis player who competed at Wimbledon between 1948 and 1951 and participated in the Davis Cup on three occasions showcasing his skills on the international stage.
Jane Henman – Competed at Junior Wimbledon and County level playing for both Berkshire and Oxfordshire Ladies 1st Teams throughout the 1960s, continuing the family tradition. Jane was also Oxfordshire Ladies squash champion.
Tim Henman OBE – Reached a career-high ATP world No.4 and was British No.1 in 1996 and from 1999 to 2005. Tim reached six major semi-finals, including four Wimbledon semi-finals between 1998 and 2002. He also played a key role in Great Britain's Davis Cup team, amassing a 40-14 win-loss record.
This heritage defines our deep understanding of the sport—from the grassroots to the global stage—and inspires everything we do today in the world of sports and entertainment marketing.
